Three-and-a-half-year-old Heidi, the opossum who rose to fame for its cross-eyes and who attempted to predict this year's Oscar winners, has been put to sleep by its Leipzig Zoo keepers. She was suffering from arthritis and other symptoms of old age. The zoo director Joerg Junhold sayd the decision was made "in the interest of the animal."
