Seth McFarlane made the animated series Larry & Steve in 1997, when he was working for Hanna-Barbara Studios, as a sequel to a first take on the same subject, The Life of Larry, which he did a couple of years earlier, while still a student. The show aired on Cartoon Network, which eventually led to the creation of Family Guy, when FOX executives contacted McFarlane after seeing it.
