Recently released footage shows people getting trampled at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station in Washington DC following the Rally To Restore Sanity And/Or Fear, last October. The downward escalator suddenly goes berserk, seriously speeding up while people were riding it. The Washington Metro reported the incident was caused by a brake malfunction. Several escalator riders were injured during the incident.
